Okay, I have a few questions. Any one that could help give some advise or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

I'm new to the whole downloading games and applications for psps and my questions are as follows;

-I currently have a CSO file for a game & don't have the slightest idea on where to begin on getting it converted(if even necessary) & applied to my psp.
-What program do i need?
-Do i need to downgrade my firmware or upgrade it?
-Oh plz help i feel like a idiot lol

-Ive also seen an application for the psp that is a windows vista version for the psp that has a few features added. Is this legit?
-If so what would be necessary to make the application function
on my psp?
-Do i need to have special firm ware to run this application?

-What are some good games that i can download and where are they. I currently have spiderman 3 & Breath of Fire III downloaded both CSO files and i have no idea what to do next...lol

Firstly, to play your games, you'll need to downgrade to 1.50 with either a Pandora Battery or with the game Lumines, then up to a custom firmware, like 3.52 M33-4 or 3.71 M33-2.

After that you put your .cso and .iso files into ms0:/ISO/ to play them.

The Windows Vista App you're on about is run from the web browser, it's like a homebrew, but for any PSP version, so your 3.40 should run it. It's not as good as normal homebrew, but it's something.

WOW ok i feel like a idiot. So 1st off where would i find a upgraded software thats safe to supply to the psp. and what are the risks of doing this and it not working? thanks.

You mean downgraders? You can get the files you need from noobz.eu (Noobz released both the 3.50 downgrader and the Pandora Battery).

If you want to use the game Lumines to downgrade then get the right files here.

If you want to make a Pandora Battery then you can use the files on their site and do it manually, or find the Pandora GUI app which will do it all for you (You cannot find he GUI on the noobz site). You can only make a Pandora Battery from another PSP that is already at 1.50 or a custom firmware.

The other option is using a Universal Unbricker (Otherwise known as the Despertar del Cementerio) released by Dark_AleX, this is basically the same as a Pandora Battery but upgrades to 3.71 M33 instead of 1.50 and still needs to be created on a custom firmware PSP, get the files needed here.

If you don't know anyone with a 1.50 or CFW PSP then your only choice is to find Lumines and use that to downgrade.

The risks of bricking (Where your PSP doesn't turn on) through the Lumines method are under 5%, with the Pandora Battery or the Universal Unbricker there is 0%, they can also unbrick PSPs that are already fully bricked.
