I currently have a samsung drive with 5.2 firmware.
I have not played any back ups online since the update back in march or april.
However i do play originals online quite often (5or6 times a week).
Not been banned, i am looking to update firmware to iextreme to play back ups on line, but if i check which games are steath patched and only play them online do i really need to update my firmware?

No real answer to that one. Some people will say yes because they beleive Iextreme will prevent you from getting banned. Which of course there is no proof of at all. Then others like myself will say that as long as your backups are stealth you should be ok as i know a few people who use 5.2 online with back ups and they have been fine for almost a year now.

Check your backups with XDVDMulleter. You can check them right from the disc (don't need to rip to pc). As long as they show "iXtreme Compatable" then you're good. It was the backups which were getting people banned, not the firmware.

I was using 5.3 on Live up until August.
