This is to install Wiikey on a Wii with firmware version 3.1
Things to do before installation:
Go to the Wiikey website and download the latest instalation disk .iso and burn it with imageburn to a DVD-R disk.
This should be burned like you would burn a game.
Ok, now tell me if anything is wrong with this list and I'll fix it,
and I will include links once I confirm this list is ok.
1. turn off wiiconnect24
2.back up data (just in case)
3. turn off wii
4. remove disks then connections
5. start dismantling process (future link)(future link)
6.install wiikey (future link) (future link)
For installing the wiikey I prefer to use wires instead of installing it right next to the DVD drive so it can be removed easily and you can use electrical to rap around the wiikey to prevent short circuits.
7.partially reassemble DVD drive so you can test it
8.test with the disk you made earlier, it should show up as a gamecube disk
9.if successful installation, remove the disk, unplug the wii, and reassemble wii
10. plug it in
11. before doing anything else insert the installation disk
12. once it loads as a gamecube disk, start disk channel and load the disk
13. change any settings you'd like
14. turn on wiiconnect24
15. ENJOY!!
NOTES:
You do not have to use a gamecube disk sized disk to burn the installation disk, it should still show up as a gamecube game
the wiikey might come with an installation disk but make sure it has the latest firmware
