I'm very new to this, so apologies first if I don't understand some of the terms you guys use.

I'm currently in Taiwan and I just got my first gen Wii modded with with a chip call Wi-iC, apparently it's similar to Wi-iD in the States. I asked around and people here told me it's the best chip so far on the market, so I went ahead and got it chipped. However the day after I got it back and I call the guy that installed it for me to double check everything, he said "Oh yeah I forgot to mention the Wi-iC chip tend to make the Wii overheat sometimes and burn the graphic card, so be careful" @_@

So here's the gazillion USD (or NT) question, how can I prevent my precious Wii from overheating and burning down my house? Please advise with step by step instruction, thanks!!!

You got ripped off lol. Best chip in the market? Come on now.

Go back to the modder and ask him to remove the chip. Get a Wiinja Deluxe or Wiikey instead.

i belived the mod chip in your wii is wiikey , and is not going to burn your house unless you put gassoline over that wii and light it up ha...ha..

I know for a fact that it's not a Wiikey cuz the guy that installed it for me had 4 different kinds of mod chips: Wiikey, Cyclowiz V3, Wi-IC & AWIIER. So as you can see Wi-IC came on top and that's why I chose it...
