It looks pretty cool! You just hook it up to the Wii, and you can basically hook up any modchip to this Device!

Here is a link to their Website.

so would this be considered a soft mod? If it is does that make it protected under the DMCA?

It could be considered a Softmod, because you don't solder on the Wii Board. I'm not sure though about the DMCA, just because, you are opening the Wii, but not doing any work to it, so I really wouldn't know!

I agree. it's useless unless it's D2C compatible.

Be careful with solderless modchips, because if the connection on the chip gets lost it could damage the console.I looked into a solderless solution for the PS2 called DMS EZI,and you wouldn't believe how many people had problems with it.Although a novice could solder one of the modchips currently in the Wii(except for the D2C chip install). It would be cool if you could swap out the chip though without desoldering/resoldering another one in.The only problem I have with them is the connections, every console I have seen that uses solderless modchips experiences a problem with the connections. To be honest I would like to see a softmod method like GCoS that was used on the GameCube, but instead for the Wii.It would be safe and you can implement everything available that the modchips already offer.

It's a hardmod not a softmod. No software is changed but hardware is added.

Hardmod, softmod. It doesn't matter in regards to the DMCA. It's still breaking it by allowing circumvention of copy protection. Besides, who cares about the DMCA?

Due to the fact that the english version of the site is not working i though it would be nice
to translate it for all of you.............

Install a modchip for you wii console by yourself. without any necesides of soldering and without putting at risk your console.
!finally the solution to wiis with cutt legs.
what is wlip? wlip is a adapter designed to install which ever modchip in your wii very fast and and easy without risking
damaging you console because there is no nececedie to solder anything to wii. the wlip adapter doesn't require no
technical experience, anyone can do it from a wii n00b to a wii guru you will be able to install the chip you would like within
a few minutes.
the adapter wlip comes as a result of a big demand by millions of users that want to put a modchip in thier console and are
confused about the installation process due to the fact that the new chips come out with cutt legs.
there is also a video that we have up on our website that will show you how to install the wlip adapter in less than 10 minutes
its very easy and simple process.
along with the time you will save with the wlip adapter you will also save alot of money. the wlip adapter will sell for 24,95 C
(note the modchip is not included) you will have to buy it seprate

List Of Compatable Mod Chips.....
modchips with (zocalo) i dont know what this means :\ so u might want to look it up
-winja
-wiimod
-wiiskas
-openwii
-wiifree

LIST OF COMPATABLE MOD CHIPS....
modchips without (zocalo) again not i dont know what this means so you might want to look it up
-wiikey
-cyclowiz-
-wiid

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS!
my mod chip isnlt of the list can i still be able to install it?
yes just as long as you use the same soldering methods as the previos methods

will wlip work on the new d2c chips?
currently it will not work but dont be discuraged we are working on a model of wlip that will be compatable with wiip.
we currently dont know when it will be ready but soon.

is wlip a mod chip?
no wlip is just a adapter that will make it way easier for you to install a modchip without the necesitie of soldering.

can i take off the wlip?
yes this is one of the great advantages just as simple it is to install it is as simple to uninstall.

i am scared of installing wlip can i get someone professional to do it?
dont be a weenie any idiot can do it less than 10 minues its so easy a cave man can do it ;)

what will happen if i dont dissconect wiiconnect24?
we recomend disactavating this option on your wii due to the fact that wiiconect24 may make wlip stop working temporary
due to the fact of high temperature caused by wiiconect24 to wii console. this may make your wii consule not work properly
may damage your wii console and wlip so just turn off wiiconnect24.

how can the wlip save me money?
because of previous soldering methods that require

1.solering gun 30 c
2.replacement tips
3.soldering wire 3c
4profesional install 90 c (price may be even more if you have the cutt legs)
5.special cable 4c etc

when can i buy wlip?
wait until october 29 to order your wlip

....i think i pretty much covered it there is also a nice video it on "demonstracion" section.

Careful, we don't want to mislead people. You can't hook up any mod chip. You can only hook up compatible mod chips which right now looks to be only the wiinja and a small handful of other crappy mods. The real chips that work well aren't compatible. The others have their own chips and pcbs that are NOT compatible with this device. Cool idea though.

Thanks man! That is really helpful!!! Does it say that it only works on the Wii's with the Cut Legs, or does it work on the Models before that?! Because I have one of the first Wii's, and just wanted to know!

Thanks again for Translating!

it will work on the cutt legs and also on wiis that have the legs intact. and to answer your question yes it will work on earlier models and models before the d2c chip. this adapter wont with d2c but they say they are working on a d2c version so thats good news

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the chip in this picture the Wiikey?

Zocalo is Spanish for "baseboard". I hope this helps. Slightly off-topic, I was wondering if anyone else had trouble with the thin cable that connects the DVD drive to Wii motherboard when they tried to install a mod or just opened up their Wii for some reason. The first time I tried installing my WiiKey, I pulled that cable loose and I think I broke it. I got a new Wii and vowed not to ever open one again, but this device got me thinking...

This idea seems pretty simple. From what it looks like, you just insert the wires of the Mod Chip into the WLip. Obviously, you wouldn't be soldering it to the WLip since they specifically stated "no solder required" Numerous times. It just plugs into your motherboard like a Processer does. Or like adding a video card to your PC. Except I highly doubt nintendo included a spot for that to be placed in, so where exactly does this thing plug in to on the mobo?

It plugs on top of the chip that they cut wires off of (on the D2B chipsets)! And you have to solder onto your modchip it looks like, but I mean this would be better for a lot of people instead of soldering on the small points on the Wii!

Like I stated before in my previous post, since it is a "Solderless" mod, it is far FAR more likely that you just plug the wires into it. Kind of like old speakers (haven't seen speakers for anything but a computer in a long time ;-) ) where you push on the red/black thing and stick the wire into it and let it go then you're done. The red/black thing holds the speaker wire against a metal plate in most cases, where the current flows throw it and into the wire/stereo system.
