I got my ps3 today :P
I have this demo disc with the mag, it says i should update to 1.9X or somthing. I remember regretting updating my psp because i past the downgrader at that time. Should i update my ps3 in hope for homebrew to come to me or should i update it, get "Cool" new features and be able to play the game.

Fat PSP: 3.03 oe-c (will update when i have time :P)

If you bought your PS3 today then it most likely has a high firmware anyway so it would probably not do any good to stay on it. I just upgraded mine from 1.32 to 1.93 as I waited about a year and nothing with promise has ever been discussed released or anything.

Yeah I'd definitely update, and if something does end out comming out for the ps3 you could just get a mod chip, or it might be a gamesave hack like for some of the psp downgraders.

@ Oner
So you did end up upgrading to the newest version. Welcome to the 21st century =D

There is an exploit to get past the firmware upgrade to enable you to play the latest games.

If your wanting to run homebrew dont do it because nobody knows if downgrading will be a 100% succesful or if it could cause damage to your system doing so.

If you want the fancy features that come along with each firmware then do so.I did as im impatient all it does is open up features Sony locked out on purpose.

Just because the earlier updates on the psp were easier to hack dosent nessarily mean the same thing on the ps3. And u could just get a mod chip to downgrade if its an issue, by upgrading u are in no way screwing urself over for future homebrew.

What your saying could be untrue, you have no way of knowing if downgrading could ruin the PS3 or not.
Thats why i wrote this.

People have Bricked the psp doing so and its easy to hack.
If you worked for sony i would have no problem with what you said.
So telling someone information which is not confirmed yet may cause damage.
