I heard it could cause it. I stopped using mine. I hear the power brick is supposed to be a surge protector. When I had it connected to a UPS the ups would brown out for a split moment and the xbox would turn off for a split second and the xbox would then have the three rings. Since I unplugged the brick from the UPS and connected straght to the wall I have not had any more trouble. Been Months.

If you have problems with a surge protector then you just need to buy a good one. Especially if it is an AC filtering type.

I thought everyone knew not to buy monster products because they are no better than the rest with an outrageous price. Are you one of those people that bought 50$ monster composite cables with the gold plated connectors to get a better composite connection? There are better UPS out there with a better price than 200. Anyways I am soudning rude. Just woke up. Just please don't buy monster products. Or pay 5.00 for a 12 oz can of soda or pay 10 a gallon for gas. Just not thing to do.

No, i do have that surge protector but i got it for a ton less then $200. As far as cables go, Acoustic Research is my brand of choice. And as far as being rude i can say anyone who thinks that the quality of the cable they use will not effect the picture quality is dead wrong. Because those cheap Ebay cable ARE NOT as good as a well made cable like Acoustic Research. Monster is surely WAY over priced but i was just using the above as an example of what a good surge protector looks like, rather than the cheap $5 models you buy at Wal-Mart.
