Hey all how's everyone??

I just installed my wiikey about 4 or 5 days ago. Install went fine no probs. All my originals work without any problems. Put in the wiikey setup disc read it just fine. I've made backups of 2 different wii games and 1 gamecube game and it won't read any of them.

On the Wii games it gives me the black screen that says eject the disc and restart wii. On the gamecube game it shows up on the wii main screen as a gamecube game but when you start it you get a black screen.

I've changed the settings around on the wiikey with the config disc several times I even updated the wiikey to 1.9b without any problems but I can't get it to run anything but the config disc. I had my wiikey installation checked and all it good there.

I've tried several different types of media also which when I did a search on the forums here several threads suggested it. I've tried Memorex DVD+R Fujifilm DVD-R Imation DVD-R and Verbatim DVD-R All of which would run the config disc no probs but nothing else.

I used 3 different types of burning software also. I used CloneCD, Nero, and Imageburn. Tried different speeds between 2x and 8x. I have a pioneer 112D burner with 1.15 firmware on it. To made the backups of the games I used the LG drive from Newegg that was recommended. Not sure on the model number on that but can find it if needed.

My wii firmware version is 2.2u NTSC wii and I used NTSC config and update discs. I made the backups from my NTSC games I got here in the US. Let me know if you need anymore info.

If anyone could help me out I would appreciate it very much. Thanks for your time.

Same problem here. I am still trying to get it working now.
Just to make sure, did you use the 1.3 config disk? and did you set your region override to "on"?

Hey Yep I sure did. I tried the 1.2 and the 1.3 config disc. I tried several different settings. I changed the wii's dvd rom speed and turned region override on and off. I figured the install is good otherwise the wiikey config and update dvd's wouldn't work.

I just got monkeyball to work! Nero 7 (vista) on a DVD+R at 2X. Trying strikers now...

the only setting I changed was to make the region override on. Everything else I left alone. What game were you trying to use?

Playo DVD+Rs they aren't very high quality.

Right now I am testing if Nero 7 vs. Nero 8 makes a difference.

Give me 10 minutes to let you know about that

Did you try monkeyball yet? If not, try it out so we can see if we are having the same issue or not.

Strikers worked too. I have a few other games to test out, but that will have to wait until tomorrow. Using NERO 7.5.9.0. Try it out, it might fix your issue.

I'm gonna try nero 7.5.9.0 and I'll let you know if that worked. The only setting you changed was region override?? Also what version of the wii firmware do you have??

Yea, that was the only setting that i changed. I am not sure what firmware it is, and I can't tell you until tomorrow, but I did update it once (to whatever firmware Strikers uses)

The firmware shouldn't be an issue (I could be wrong), but I haven't seen any issues regarding just firmware.

Alright cool. I appreciate the help again. I did find out something I didn't know my pioneer drive can't burn lower then 4x Even if you change the burn settings it burns at 4x so I'm wondering if that's the problem. But if it was wouldn't the config and the update discs not run either??

Yea that doesn't seem to be the problem, since I got strikers to work at 8x.

I used friidump to dump 2 gamecube games and they worked. Trying a Wii game atm. I'm sorry to hear yours quit workin. If you go into your Wii Settings at the top you should see a number 2.2u 3.0u something like that. Assuming you have a NTSC wii that will be your firmware verion. Are you getting disc read errors now?? Did one of the games update your wii??

I burned Mario party 8 onto a dvd+r with blindwrite today, and it DIDNT work. So, looks like dvd-r's are the right choice. Although all of my previous burns were dvd+rs...I dont get it yet

firmware version 2.2U

My firmware is also 2.2u. Metroid Prime 3 updated my frimware the same way. What is your wiikey version?? I use verbatim dvd-r everyone says that's the way to go. That is very odd.

I finally got a backup of metroid prime 3 to run on my wii. Made another dump with Friidump. I guess RawDump was the problem I had. But yours don't make since that they were working and then quit the only thing it could be is the firmware update but I have 2.2u so I would probly update my wiikey to 1.9b if you haven't already.

wiikey 1.9b. Rayman works on dvd-r too. I haven't had to use any of those programs you mentioned, I don't see why you need them.

Is everything you wanted working now?
