Hi, i was trying to use mspformat to format the mem stick logically when i got the open error (read) message, apparently this is due to the fact iam running Vista and not XP :S

So do i need to do this step cus i cant install XP and i really want to downgrade my other psp, is the step necessary as ive already formatted it on the psp?

Thanks

If you want to downgrade to 1.50 firmware then go HERE and follow the steps (Downgrading to 1.50 will only work on FAT PSP systems).

If your planing on going straight to 3.71 M33-2 then use this guide HERE. It will Unbrick/Upgrade a PSP straight to 3.71 M33-2.

Both methods use the PSP only no mspformat/msipl commands need to be run on PC.

You will need a 3.XX custom firmware FAT/SLIM PSP to use these methods with a FAT PSP BATTERY ONLY.

I wonder when the version will be released to downgrade without a battery, just using AC adaptor and MS

Update:

Fat32 Error?
Go to My Computer with PSP plugged in and right click on the MS and click format. Change FAT32 to FAT and format. Then run mspformat on the drive again.

Are you using a PSP that has custom firmware installed? You can not use an Official firmware PSP to convert the Battery to a Pandora Battery.
