My hardrive is corrupt/ not even letting me access the xmb.
I need to connect the hardrive to my pc and format it.
I purchased a 2.5" drive caddy to connect my hardrive to my pc
and im thinking is this the right screw driver

So when i get these items, what format should i use to format my hd (fat32 etc)?

The hard drive needs to be reformatted through the PS3.

No it doesnt i formatted it using my laptop put it in to ps3 and it works, now just waiting for replacement screws from Sony

Oh, because I know that there is an option to format the PS3 hard drive in the XMB under settings.

yeah but the prob was i couldnt enter the xmb i was stuck on a screen saying corrupt harddrive so i had to use my laptop so i could access xmb.
