I'm using Nero 6 ultra to make backups of dvd's and make vcd's from mpeg files and I have nothing but trouble with it, god knows how many coasters I have made in my time!!

Is there anything else I could use for these purposes rather that Nero cause it never seems to work for me.

I'm using a pioneer DVR-106D writer, when I tried to use record now max it said it wasn't compatible with my writer, so I went to thier website to update the drivers but this still didn't help!

Please can someone adise me on what to do, it's driving me mad>

Hi wuzzbert, Nero usually works well for everyone if you do all the steps right before burning. If you do want to try another burner program, download BURNATONCE. Its free. I think your problem may be something before you get to use Nero but we need more info on what you use to rip to hard drive. Jerry

i could probably help you if you elaborate how you try to burn from start to wherever you get the error. i used to get errors from Nero too but i found a way to get around it. post it here then well see.

Ok here is what I'm trying to do:

I have a DVD-R with a film on it. I want to copy it onto a DVD-RW. It creates the image but when it starts to burn I get the error listed below in the log. I have ensured the DVD-RW is erased before use and checked it is empty using disc info.

Thanks for your help.

This is the log of what happend (sorry for including it all but I'm not sure what is relevant):

wuzzbert, you're getting all that from using the disc copy part of Nero? Since you are making a copy of a dvd-R there is no copy protection on it. Just insert disc, click disc copy and it should work. One other thing, if your dvd-r is almost maxed out space wise, remember that a dvd-rw actually holds somewhat less information. Maybe it can't copy the complete dvd-r. Just guessing though Jerry

Instead of doing a Disk to Disk copy try copying the Video_TS folder off the DVD to your Desktop then burning the Video_TS Folder to DVD with Nero in DVD Video Mode...
