ok this is a long story and i will do my best to explain: i borrowed a spare battery from my friend cause he had official FW 3.52 and i borrowed a memory stick from another friend cause he had 3.52 as well. i made them into a pandora combo and i used the universal unbricker to go straight to 3.71 M33. i lent the battery and mem stick to someone else over the weekend. turns out that the memroy stick guy wanted the mem stick back. so the dude who had the battery formatted the mem stick and gave it back to him. now the battery guy wants the battery back. he lent me his 256 mem stick and asked me to turn it back into a normal one. unfortunatley the eeprom file for his battery was on the now-formated mem stick (the one that was given back to the mem stick guy). i converted his battery back into a normal one by generating a fake serial (0x12345678) but i dont want there to be any side effects.

now i have 2 questions:
1) what side effects could happen from making the fake serial
2) is it better for me to back up MY eeprom file onto the memory stick (the one that the battery guy gave me) and flash it onto my friends battery?

Its always best to restore the original serial number but ive had no problems with mine and thats on 0x12345..

Im not sure, to be honest this isnt really my area (Serial numbers etc) but Im sure it will be the same as having 0x12345..
