I have alot of divx movies on my hard drive that i want to put on dvds. I can get 3 or 4 movies on a dvd. I want to have a menu come up when i put the dvd in the drive to launch each individual movie. Has anyone done the same thing? I have gifs of the dvd covers that i would like to use for the menus can anyone help?

why do you want to do that. if they are divx, then you need a computer to view them. You cant put a divx disc in a standalone and have it play.

you need a computer with the software code to play the divx movies in which case you dont need the menu screens.

Well to make a DVD of DivX movies you have to convert them to MPEG2, and you have to know that you cannot fit 3-4 movies into one DVD or the quality is going to be poor. You can fir up to 2, and these not long-lenght.

Have a look at this guide, which includes creating a menu: http://users.auth.gr/~ichatzim/tmpegenc.htm

I have a computer connected to a sony plasma which i can view dvds and divx movies played with both power dvd and Zoom Player so i dont need to convert the divx movies i just want to archive them on dvd+r and have a menu on the disc so my wife doesnt have to navigate to get to the movies thru windows explorer or the file menu of Zoom Player

i have to disagree with the above.. i have managed to get 3 divx on 1 dvd-r without quality loss... rambo 1,2 & 3, and i made a menu for it.... my sis also has films with 3 on and the quality is excellent....

I understand thatyou don't want to convert the movies to play in a standalone, and that you want to burn the DivX files to your DVD-R as data files.

I've never heard of anyone making a menu for what is essentially a data disc in the same sense as a CDR that has multiple DivX files on it.

I would personally be happy with opening the Windows Explorer on my desktop, as this would display the contents of the disk in a sort of "menu" style.

But good luck searching....

You want to play the DivX in your PC?

http://users.auth.gr/~ichatzim/launcher.htm

Not what you are looking for but if you edit the html a little to put all films there you are OK, after clicking play now a menu will come up to ask which movie.
