wiikey installed but won't load disks

i installed the wiikey and i have burned config 1.2, 1.3 and update 1.9b, and even downloaded and burned 3.0 bootdisk. i am burning on both dynex and verbatim, and have tried imgburn and nero, but i still can't get any of the disks to read on the wii. i turn on the wii, put the disk in and it says that there is an error on the disk. i have checked the solder connections and they are fine. i have a wii with the d2b chip, but i thought that it should work. i had someone that solders circuit boards for a living install it with equipment that he uses at work, and he did a continuity test and it passed. any suggestions would be greatly appeciated.

Are you sure your IC legs aren't clipped?

No. Nintendo clipped 3 legs in an attempt to thwart modders. If yours are clipped, you'll either have to dremmel the chip down or rebuild the legs with thin wire.
