Do THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Open the PS2 and Check the worm gear MOTOR ASSY. Try to move it with your finger, if you CAN'T move it it's probably seized and would need to be replaced. If you CAN move it, on the disc spindle is a small switch, power the unit on and press the switch with your finger, the laser should move each time. If the laser moves, try cleaning and lubricating the rails and the worm gear. If the laser DOES NOT MOVE, you may have a blown IC. Replace the PS2, it wouldn't be worth it to fix.

Thanks for replying
I checked the Motor Assy gear and it moves freely. I don't know what switch you are taking about. I was thinking buying a new ps2, but I don't want to go through the whole hassle of modifying it again. I love my fat ps2; because I can run games from my hdd. I would like to fix my old ps2! Any sugestion??

Look at the spindle that spins the disc, just a little to the right is a tiny "homing switch" (it "homes" the laser)(this switch usually don't go bad)
Also look for loose or broken cables. At the spindle, the drive assy, the laser. Check the connections at the motherboard where the cables lead. Underneath the tray door is where the tray motor is. It will have a belt, check that area too.
You can switch lasers with a known good laser as a test. The laser though wouldn't stop the tray from opening. At least it doesn't on mine.

I don't even get the browsing menu, nothing it all, just a black screen. Would the laser do this?

I think the problem is a blown IC.
Watch the laser for movement when you power on the the unit, press the eject button, if nothing happens, I would look toward the main board. Also take a look at the modchip it may be bad.

How can I check if it is a blown ic? Is it hard to replace one of this ic chip? If it is my mod chip, how can i tell it went bad...

Did you check if the laser moves when you press the reset/eject button?
If it does, did you try switching the laser? Ask a friend to help with the laser test.

You indicated you checked ALL the fuses and they were fine?
The IC has a tiny fuse near it called an ICP (IC protector), did you check it? Also, near the power supply is a tiny fuse that may have gone bad. These fuses are black and will have a white number on them.

The IC chip will have a number like LA6508 or BA5815FN this is what drives the motor and the spindle. It is checked with an oscilloscope. You can look for areas that appear burned around the chip, you can smell for burning too. Also check the solder points of the chip to see if they look fused together from too much heat.
The MODCHIP can be checked the same way.
