HELP ME : some games don't just work

Alright, I've been looking for answers on this question for a long time. I guess this forum has some experts who might be help me wih my prob.
I have a psp with 3.40 OE-A Firmware. I run all my games with the no-umd thingie disabled, and with a umd disc inserted, the way it should be done with these custom firmwares.
The problem is that some games just won't work. The thumbnail works like a charm but when i try to start it , the screen just stays black forever. Again this is only with some dlled games. For instance : FIFA08, Burnout Legends, DBZ Shin budokai, Daxter etc. work , while PES2007, DBZ Shin Budokai 2 and Burnout Dominator don't.
Anyone has has this problems too ? I don't really see a pattern in it. It's not that iso or cso don't work, i got both of them to run on my psp, it's just some games.
Is it maybe a common problem with the 3.40OE-A firmware and you guys suggest that i should upgrade to 3.50 ?

yes i was on 3.52mm3-4 and it worked and i'm now on 3.71m33-2 and it still work's, there are 2 type's of fifa 08 out one will work on 3.40oe-a the other work's on 3.53m33-2 and up.

Yea, you'd be hard pressed to get that many bad ISOs :)
I have about 150 games and only 2 were bad...
PSP, all the way from 1.00 to 5.50 GEN D2 - DS Lite w/ M3DS Real (M3 Sakura v1.34)

Can't get them to run on cfw 3.71 m33-2 :(

By "disable umd in the recovery menu" do you mean selecting one of these options:
UMD Mode - m33 Driver -NO UMD-
UMD Mode - Sony NP9660 -NO UMD-
UMD Mode - OE isofs legacy -NO UMD-
rather than using:
UMD Mode - Normal -UMD required................?
I have tried all of the -NO UMD- settings available without luck.

An update : I just updated to 3.52 M33-4 version.
The games who wouldn't work with my previous version still don't work. But instead of showing the thumbs like before, the game doesn't even appear on my psp.

Fake memory card? Press triangle over the memory stick icon, what does it say next to MagicGate?
