How do i Change Game ID

So im trying to play chrono cross and it freezes at the first boss, and i found out i need to change the game id. but when i try to do this in zinga burnga's popstation it still doesnt work.

so i downloaded PSX2PSP but it didnt come w/ a readme file. i got the base.pbp and put it in the files folder but when i try to convert something "Cannot find STARTDAT Not a valid PSX eboot.pbp" will come up b4 it finishes converting.

So can someone tell me what im doing wrong w/ either of these programs?
