I don't know, he said he was leaving after 3.71 M33-2, the 1.50 Kernel and the V3 Unbricker. He's been quiet for a long time now, so i am not sure.

It all depends, Dark_AleX was around for over a year, when i got my PSP he was pretty much just getting known :)
In that year a lot has happened, and he's done a lot for the PSP community, but now he's finally gone there's no-one to really pick up the pieces left behind.
If someone rises to the challenge then we'd all support them... if they don't, then, well, we're doomed to official firmware and Sony will have won.
There is one other way of getting round updating, a resurrection of good old DevHook :D it may not be fancy, but it worked, and i almost miss the old days... it's easier to do than making a new custom firmware, so maybe that's what will happen.
