What DVD media to use?

what DVD media is best for the nintendo wii to read? does it matter what speed it records at?

ive just copied Mario Party 8 (PAL) on A Verbatim DVD-R on 2x. It worked fine when i first ran the game now it doesnt want to load at all. I have a Nintendo Wii (PAL) and has the latest update on it.

ive also just burnt the same game onto a Ritek DVD-R at 2x and reads it fine.

does it depend what game or model the wii is? coz ive read up on a few sites/forums that verbatim should be good.

what speed are you burning your wii games at?

yea ive actually looked online which media to use and most say verbatim. i used ImgBurn to burn my wii games @ 2x.

i just got my nintendo wii modded with wiikey about acouple of days ago.

i just finished downloading mario party 8 and burnt the game @ 2x using ImgBurn with the Verbatim DVD-R discs. it worked fine and i was playing the game for a few hours. then when i wanted to play it again it didnt want to recognise the disc. i resetted my nintendo wii, i let it rest and then tried using a different brand. Luckily i had 1 Ritek DVD-R cd left and i burnt mario party 8 again and it reads the game fine as if it was an original disc.

does the nintendo wii have different DVD drives in them depending on when you bought them?

nevermind. i think its how the game was ripped or something, i cbf understanding why. ive burnt several other games with verbatim 2x and plays perfectly. if anyone
