You've missed quite allot! Basicly the psp slim, is just a slimmer version of the psp, and lighter too. the only changes are that it has a tv-out port so you can view whats on the psp screen, on your tv. secoundley, sony has made it faster. But thats all i could think of on behalf of the slim, but I actual thing the normal psp is better, because with the slim, you would need to go through allot of hastle to make it homebrew enabled. And the latest custom firmware out now is 3.71M33.
My psp life: TA-079-fw1.5 -> fw2.0 -> fw2.60 -> fw 2.71 -> fw2.80 -> fw3.00 -> fw3.03 -> fw3.11 -> fw3.50 -> fw1.5 -> 3.40OE-A ->fw1.5 -> 3.03OE-C [to try out the gta cheat device] :)(got bored) -> fw1.5 ->3.40OE-A -> cfw3.52M33-4 -> cfw3.71M33-2(got unstable) -> fw1.50 -> cfw3.40oe-a -> 3.52-M33-3 -> 3.80-M33 -> 3.90-M33

erm.. I think that 3.40 OE-A has to be the best custom firmware that there is, evan though it might not be the newest, but i've found it to be the most stable! And to be the best one if you dont want to go through the hastle of installing 3.71M33, which is quite mind blowing.

3.40 oe-a I agree on that, i have 3.71 m33-2 and having problems with it, it shuts down spontaneously... so until I get a fix to that, I will be going back to 3.40 oe-a

3.71M33 causes flash1 corruption which practically means it becomes into a full brick, a FULL brick, as in FULL.Let's put it this way, no Unbricker device for the PSP can recover it, only your OWN nand.If you haven't backed up your own nand then you're totally screwed.
EDIT:Go to 3.52M33-4, a higher firmware allows newer games to be enabled.

I am on 3.71 M33-2 + 1.50 ADD ON-2 and have no issues.
3.52 M33-4 runs circles around 3.40 OE-A so I laugh when I see others say 3.40 OE-A is the best and most stable.
I remember a few months ago when everyone said stick with 3.40 OE-A keep Dark Alex legacy alive. M33 isn't stable and the team doesn't have anything on Dark_Alex.
Then the laugh was on them when Dark_Alex came out and said he was the coder for M33 custom firmware. After that most of the 3.40 OE-A users went to 3.52 M33-4 and very rarely do you see anyone supporting 3.40 OE-A anymore.
3.52 M33-4 Hands down wins over 3.40 OE-A.
With the extra options 3.52 M33-4 has to offer and it being just as stable as 3.40 OE-A your in a dream world if you think 3.40 OE-A tops 3.52 M33-4.
For those who claim 3.52 M33-4 isn't stable well it isn't the custom firmware thats the problem it's the user.

You can follow this guide HERE to get to 3.52 M33-4 custom firmware.
The latest custom firmware for FAT is 3.71 M33-2 + 1.50 ADD ON. You can install this firmware by using this guide HERE (You need to install 3.52 M33-4 before installing this firmware).
If you want the latest 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware the safest and easiest way to install that is by using this Universal Unbricker/Upgrader. Using this method will skip all the above guides and update directly to 3.71 M33-2 custom firmware.
You can go HERE and follow the guide to create the Universal Unbricker/Upgrader.
