I`ve just joined today therefore I`m a newbie
Can somebody point me in the right direction please
I have a PSP v.3.11 (retrieved from under mac code in system settings)
I can play & convert movies no problem but haven`t tried games yet
I`ve read the guides and i`m now completely confused as to what CFW if any I should install?
OK. The best downgrader for you would be the 3.50 downgrader from Noob.eu, but you would need to buy a copy of lumines first, unless you have the game already, and when you do get the game, you will also need to upgrade to 3.50 official firmwre. click on this link to download the 3.50 upgrade:

After you download this, connect the psp to your'e computer, then go into the psp folder, then the game folder, and creat a folder called "UPDATE" and copy the downloaded 3.50 file into it, then rename the 3.50 update file to "EBOOT", then disconnect your'e psp, and go to the Game section on your psp, then scroll down to the bottom where it says memory stick, and click on the icon saying 3.50 update.
instructions on how to use the downgrader will be included in a README text.
And onto the Custom Firmware. I think that 3.40 OE-A is the best custom firmware, because It has been the most stable all the newest firmwares out to date, such as 3.51M33 and up.
Thanks for your help dcity, I`m assuming "lumines" is a game? and why this particular one (sorry if that`s a stupid question) I`m just new to handhelds nothing else
There is an exploit found in the game that allows the PSP to access and run "unsigned" code (In this case, the downgrader), therefore you need that game.
