First, I want to say thank you in advance for any help coming from these questions. I also want to say not only have I been searching for an answer, but I have been searching for 2 days so I am not trying to be lazy.
That being said I have a previously bricked psp now at 3.71m33-2 / 1.5 kernal. I would like to play homebrew (mainly NES) games. I downloaded nesterj v1.20. I extracted the files to the game1.5 folder. I downloaded a rom (which has an extension .nes). I go to games/memory stick and there is a corrupt file and nesterj 1.20 beta 2. I click x and it looks like it will start, but then goes to error code 80020148. Now I could have the rom wrong too, but I never even get that far. Can someone please help me.

Hm...Try going into recovery mode and go to Configuration>Game folder kernel(or w.e.) - 1.50
If that doesn't work and you really want to play emulators then go to 3.52M33-4 then place the emulator into the Game150 folder.Also, try placing the emulator into the Game150 folder in 3.71M33-2 before flashing.
I have it set to 1.5 kernel already and I have tried switching to the 3.71. I have nesterj 1.20beta2 in the game1.5 folder already. I would love to play emulators, but I know it has to be something simple. You do not have to use devhook or kxploit to load nesterj into 3.71 do you?
That is probably a stupid question, but I am new to this. The guy who set my psp up is not longer available to ask questions to. All I know is iso play perfect, well with the exception of a glitch in world series poker all in, but other than that iso and cso files work perfect. I just want to be able to play emulators. Please help. How do I set back to 3.52m33-4 and should I? I have the TA-082 board or whatever it was bricked.
I tried to load deadulus with the same results. I have notice that on both deadulus and on nesterj that the main file is corrupt on the psp. The files listed % is the one that partially loads. Please help.

hey man! you said that your CFW is 3.71 m33. You can use the DOWNGRADE371M33 by Samhain. Try using the google. This will downgrade you back to 1.50. You need to download the official FW 1.50. rename it to UPDATE.PBP and copy it to update folder. Ive use this to downgrade my PSP with TA082 motherboard back to 1.50! I've no responsibility whatever happen to your PSP using this procedure.

If your emulator is working with 3.71 m33-2 w/ 1.50 addons, ofcourse you dont need to this process. I've have same problem with you before. I upgraded mine to 3.71 m33-2 with 1.50addons but unfortunately all my emulator wont work and like you said it loads but gives an error. I've also change the kernel to 1.50 but the game still wont work and put game either GAME150 or GAME folder but still no success. so i downgrade it to 1.50 and update it to 3.52 m33-4. ill just wait for any updates on 3.71 m33
Frankie29 I am new to this and like I said someone else unbricked and programmed this psp. Since it was bricked can I even downgrade and then upgrade, or do I have to do something difficult like pandoras battery? Also do all the new iso/cso games still work on the 3.52m33-4? Is there an advantage to being at 3.71m33-2 over 3.52m33-4? Thank you again for your help.
