ok here it goes.... i usually burn my backups with imgburn or clonecd i use memorex and verbatim disk and they work fine on my samsung drive. now my friend brings his hitachi 360 and we try the same games on his system and it kept saying please insert 360 game in xbox 360. im confused because my other friends have hitachi drives and the verbs i burn with imgburn and clonecd work perfectly fine. is there specific way to burn games just for the hitachi drives? because this makes no sense what so ever to me. some help will be appreciated,thanks

I to have a hitachi and I must say it sucks,My samsung read ever thing till it got the rrod,Now im stuck with a hitachi that will read 30 min at a time before it gives me the diry disk error.My buddy who had a hitachi and had similar probs like not reading them also till he's got the rrod also.(lol)So if there is a special way of burning hitachi games I'd like to know also,But im pretty sure there isnt.Im gong to try ajusting my pot settings on my laser if that works any better for me I'll let ya know.

are u playin non stealth pathed games on his 360?? if so is he using the new iextreme??? cuz non stealth games wont boot....

actually with Hitachi, unless it has changed, there were different ways that they had to be burned.
The games had to be stealth
And they had to be booktyped to DVD-Rom in order to work.
That was when i first read up on them though.

But if you have several friends and they have Hitachi drives and your discs work on theirs and not on this one friends Xbox. Then the flash may not be right on his. Unless he has some backups that actually do work and then i am clueless as to why they would not work.

the crazy thing is some backups work on his system. im guessing maybe they burned with xbc cause all i really use is imgburn and clonecd. i think he has a 078fk with some ancient firmware because when i put the dvd in it makes a wierd noise,hitachi drives freaking suck lol

but i am clueless for now maybe he should just get the latest firmware. and the games i am using are stealthed.

Hey I don't know if you got your problem fixed but today I ajusted my laser's pot setting and I've been able to read ever disk so far.My hitachi 078 pot was at 4.11 ohms so I set it to 3.88 ohms Seems to be working great.If you need to know where the guide for ajusting the pot is let me know.

well, only certain burners can booktype so first you have to find out if your burner can.
