Although I imagine you could drop in a 3.40OE-A update folder into the GAME folder, and select it from the Hellcat menu instead of setting your path to the '352UPDATE' folder...The only problem I can think of is that you would need to first downgrade to 1.50 with pandora v1 before you could run the 3.40OE updater...It wouldn't have the capability of doing it automatically like it does when you run the '352UPDATE' (if that makes sense at all??) The 352UPDATE folder is already setup so it first downgrades, your psp to 1.50, then runs the kxploit patch, (this is what is going on behind the scenes when the brown screen appears)and then it presents the menu to upgrade to 3.52M33...And this particular setup can be run on any fat psp regardless of what state or firmware version the psp is in.
Another option (and this is what I was running prior to using this setup) is just have your various update eboots and patches, etc go into the GAME folder, and run them from the XMB...Granted each step has to be done manually, but it does work....I had original pandora(v1) and then I had the folders for the 3.40OE-a update, the kxploit patch along with the 3.52M33 w/M33-4 update, and then the 3.71M33 updater with the M33-2, and 1.50 kernel patch
so what you did is pretty much left you self the option on witch one you want to install?

dEEz, I need some help please...
I followed your instructions about the path thing...And I've done it correctly.
So I go into the CFW option and it still says it can do a "bricky brick",and say press X to go.Is that screen ameant to show? Thanks.
Yes, that brown screen you are seeing is normal. The "bricky-brick" it just a warning like on any other menu you use to downgrade-What it does is downgrades your psp to 1.50, then adds the kxploit patch, then when thats done the black screen will appear telling you that you are about to update to 3.52M33-If you have ever updated your psp to 3.52M33 before, then you know how that process works-Its just been streamlined so you dont have to do the steps manually (ie: downgrade to 1.50,apply the kxploit patch)-Just remember to run the M33-4 update from the psp's XMB when you are done. It doesnt apply patches or updates automatically...The same goes for 3.71M33-2, you would have to apply the 1.50 kernel patch manually from the XMB as well (for fat psp's only)
what if you took the 3.52M33 update out and replaced it with the 3.40oe-a CF. will it automaticaly go to the black screen and install? or will it just downgrade the psp to 1.5 and you would have to upgrade it manually?

with the FAT psp w/ 3.71 m33 custom firmware
1) power off
2) take out MS and battery
3) put in MS then hold on L
4) put in magic battery
5) let go of L when the screen/orange light flashes, then i see the menu and can do all the stuff with the trio thing
with SLIM psp w/ 3.60 OFFICIAL firmware
1) power off
2) take out MS and battery
3) put in MS and hold on L
4) put in MAGIC BATTERY
5) either
a) scren flashes and i let go of L but screen stays black
b) screen doesnt flash and psp shuts off
what am i doing wrong?
Sounds like you are doing it correctly-Try pushing the HOLD (on/off) switch up after you have inserted your pandora battery..I find that the menu doesnt always come up when you just insert the battery on slims...
If it works OK on your fat psp, it should just as well on the slim.

And you say it works fine on your fat psp? You do have the multi-IPL and the trio installed on the memory stick, right?
With the UPMS and battery inserted in the fat psp-try changing the folder to DCv3, then remove the battery and UPMS and put it into the slim psp as per the instructions, and see if that works for you.

From the Ultimate Loader menu (or the main menu)-switch it to DCv3, the remove the battery/memory stick and then put it in the slim and see if that works.

Just to clear this up for you guys. The 3.52 update folder is straight from DAX's site. The 1.50 downgrade and the kxploit patch are part of Hellcat's Menu and are executed by it. You can use any CFW installer you like. Just make sure it is for a 1.50 to CFW install. I just supplied 3.52 because it was the newest(other than 3.71 which is in DCv3) and what I use. Go ahead give a new one a try. I just had no longing for older CFW so like I said I just used 3.52. So add as many as you like just set the option to save the path for the one you want to use.
And for slim boot on this version of trio.
The following is done with no battery inserted.
1. Push power button down to hold, so yellow dot shows.
2. Insert you Magik Stick.
3. Hold left trigger if you have installed Multi-IPL
4. Insert your JigKick battery into the slim, keep left trigger held until the Slim turns off. You will hear the slim start up.
5. Remove your JigKick battery, push hold key up, so now yellow dot shows.
6. Hold left trigger again and insert the JigKick battery.
The memstick light will blink after about 5 seconds, then you can release the trigger.
There is no way for a Slim to display the Hellcat and Joker Menus. They are based on 1.50 FW and will only display on a Phat. This is why we have implemented the Slim boot method. It will take you to only DCv3.
One more thing. The 340.pbp is only used for the installation of DCv3. Once you run the CSO to install ULoader and the other Menus it can be deleted.
Don't get me wrong dEEz has done us a great credit here, but this is why I have suggested you folks visit the official forum. I don't get here real often and I'm probably the only team member you will see here. Due come visit if there is something you guys are stumped on.

You are not leaving the hold switvh on for the entire process. It should not be returned to it's normal position untill you are presented with the DCv3 menu.
Also make sure you release the L trigger when the MS light becomes active.

OK
Make sure you follow the steps exactly as I have writen them.
Try releasing the L button when the screen lightens up. (starts to turn on) This is what I have to do as my MS light is hard to see cuz I have a skin on my PSP.

Hello Everybody
I have a PSP 1001 aka PSP Phat and PSP 2000 aka PSP Slim-N-Lite.
I am planning to upgrade my PSP Slim to 3.71M33 firmware using your guide.
Will it repartition the Memory Stick via PSP ?
While i was preparing the Memory Stick i didn't set the game kernel to 3.52-M33 in my PSP Phat.
The game kernel currently is 1.5.
Though the UPMS Installer correctly placed all the softwares in Game352 folder and the Memory Stick preparation process has been successfully finished.
Is the game kernel setting really important?
Shall i start over the Memory Stick preparation process from the beginning after changing Game kernel setting?
Please advise me
Also it would nice if you add procedure to upgrade Slim's 3.60 OFW to 3.71M33 using Despertar del Cementerio v3,
Because most of the visitors will be searching only for that kind of procedure after converting their Battery to service mode using your guide,
Finally do i need to reset to factory settings after install 3.71 M33?

I got a quick question, This works well with phat psp's but for a slim would I just run Despertar del Cementerio v3 and I'm done? And this would get me to 3.72m33-2?

Yes you are correct.
For the slim though make sure your battery is in correctly otherwise you will get a black screen even though you get a green power light.
I had this today on my Slim while testing the next release.

I'm using a fat to enable a slim, and I'm getting as far as step #3 (I already have a pandora battery so I'm skipping Step #2 completely) when I get a message saying:
"ERROR WHILE INITIALIZING: 0x8ca10002". This is when I try to install Ultimate Loader (Trio). Am I doing something wrong?

Ok, one last question. I've got it all set up, I've got the UPMS and the Pandora Battery, and I'm trying to get DvC3 on my slim. I insert the MS and then then battery, holding down L until the screen flashes, then letting go of L. the screen goes back to dark and nothing shows up, but I can still hit SELECT to shut down the PSP. What do I do?

Alright, I got a fat psp with the xbox 360 theme. Do I have to do anything before using Despertar del Cementerio v3 or can I just go ahead and install 3.71m33 and then the addon? Will it overwrite the theme?

If you're using a manually flashed theme then changing the flash will obviously erase your current flash. So yeah.
