Updated link in original post-Please note that this is the most recent version (Emerald) that you are downloading and the steps will differ slightly in the installer from the guide I originally posted. Please have a look at the first post of this thread at the bottom-I have included the changes and revisions.

Thanks for the updated links DEEZ. I'm feelin this one a lot better than the DC3. Although, you should be more specific on what options to choose in the 1-4 menu. As in, what you prefer w/ or w/out utilities, or to install what ipl to memory stick.
edit~ omg, finally, something that works, is legit, and does the job perfect! Thanks to everyone who created this and made it happen including deez for the simple guide. I recommend this to anyone and everyone.

This guide worked for me... no corrupted MS! yea!
One part I had some trouble on is step #3
you have Step#3-Install trio-...
but in the program it's step #3
Install U.P.M.S. without utilities and
Install U.P.M.S. with utilities
I had to guess that Install U.P.M.S. with utilities was the one that installs trio.

Thanks guys- I updated the recommended actions for steps 1-4
I had the ones from the original version on there still. I must have overlooked that when I was updating the guide yesterday.

So there's the new "Emerald" version...
What's the big difference apart from 3.71M33-3 installation?
Is it better in some way?
If it's not a big jump, then I'll stick to the first UPMS that I installed.
BTW, is there 1.50KernelAddon for the first UPMS, or do I need to install manually? Thanks =)

No big differences really-Just updated with a few new goodies...
The 1.50 kernel add-on is included in the original release, just needs to be installed after updating to 3.71M33-2 from the XMB.

I would like to know what I should be seeing after I set up the MS and the battery and I'm ready to do the unbricking. For instance, what lights should I be seeing blinking? Also, how long generally should the process take to unbrick once the battery is inserted? And anything else you can think of.
I have never done any unbricking and I will be helping someone else with a PSP that doesn't power up. The one thing I'm more afraid of than messing up my own PSP is messing up someone elses.

On a fat psp, you should see the memory stick and wi-fi both light up and flash quickly-then the UL (Ultimate loader) menu will appear.
From there, I would select the DCv3 folder and just upgrade the psp you are working on to 3.71M33-3 and then the 1.50 kernel from the XMB..
On a slim psp, the memory light will flash quickly and depending on what folder you left running from your previous session-it will either bring up the UL menu, or it will say 'loading DCv3' (or something to that effect) in white text..You will want to select the DCv3 folder if you boot to the UL menu on a slim-from there just select the first option to update to 3.71M33-3 by pressing X....
If you are doing this for other people, make sure you back up their nand before you do anything else (downgrading, etc) and save it to the memstick-just transfer it to their memory stick when you are done so they have a copy of their nand dump.
The process will take about 10-15 minutes..
If I were you, I would test it out on your own psp, and play around with the different menus and options...Just save your nand before playing around with it though so you can restore it if need be..DO this before you mess with other peoples psp's so you can feel confident when you do theirs..

Thank you for the info dEEz_nUtz. It looks like this installer backed up my nand for me. I just copied the whole MS to a safe place on my HD and I'm feeling pretty secure.

i have a problem which seems to be seriuos. i used to have the same problem as adyau then did what BRONZ3gst said it got solved. now i have an even more serious problem. i succesfully upgraded to 3.71
m33-2 and when i tried to run the 1.50 patch like im supposed to i get "This game cannot be started. The region code is not correct" and it does that to every app i have on there. now what do i do. i cant get past that error so i cant run anything nor play an UMD's also i tried ressetting to factory deafults and still nothing. so any help on how i can fix this problem?
EDIT: i tried flashing 3.52 m33-4 to see if that works but when it was flashing it said ERROR: unassigning flash1 then i tried to start it up again and now its bricked(sigh....again) so i tried installing 3.71 m33 and at flash 1 it freezes again so any help on what i should now. im seriously close to just giving up and trading my psp in.
EDIT2: did the whole nand-idstorage thing again and im back at the same place(with the region error i wrote about above)
Originally posted by BRONZ3gst: Originally posted by adyau: well i tried it and still stops at formatting flash 1 so im screwed i spose hay im gona try origanal pandora again and hope it works
Sorry not been keeping with this thread but if your psp is a phat 1, install the legal nand dump from step 4, install maxsafe while hellcat is active load maxsafe then backup your IDStorage to ms.
Flash the legal nand backup to your psp, then flash your IDStorage keys you backed up, this should cure the Flash1 probs, 1 of our testers had the same problem, that's y this nand was included in the installer.
Hopefully you may see a new release of the Installer and Trio at the weekend.

I'm sure that you need a FAT battery. The Slim battery might work, but I'm not too sure.

yea I just modded a slim with a fat battery but you need to use the other guide to mod slim,
but essentially yes a fat batterie works in slim but a slim batterie will not work in fat psp's
also as far as using a slim batterie to crack a slim psp, I dont know I havnt tried yet, if anyone has, it would be nice to know just so we know it does work. I'm pretty sure it would though as long as you used an allready cracked slim to mod the battery.

ok remember you cannot use pandoras battery maker unless your making the stick and battery with an ALLREADY cracked PSP, if you are doing this fine
next- if you'r getting the error that the game cannot be started. go into the advanced settings of the PSP - only cracked psp's have this, completley turn off the psp, Hold R1 and turn it on while holding R1, the system goes into advanced boot click configuration>
go down to UMD Mode X to change go to Sony NP9660 - No UMD-
dont worry UMD's will still work, now try to run the program,
this just bypasses having to have a UMD in the drive while trying to play software from the MS, such as games ect.

Another way to change your UMD settings without having to go into recovery mode is using the vsh menu:
-On 3.52M33, press the 'Home' button while in the XMB, scroll to the 'UMD ISO MODE' and change the setting to "Sony NP9660"
-If you are running 3.71M33 or greater, press the 'Select' button instead to access the menu.

Well, I've already done it on my friends psp and mine as well, but I just wanted to make sure that it would work just the same on the slim psp.
