The UPTinstaller is another program that is similar to UPMS-it was developed by another party. As far as doing anything with the files you downloaded, if you already have a working UPMS rig, then you are good. The UPTInstaller V4.3 is for those already running 4.01M33CFW and wish to create a pandora setup. Other versions of UPMS or UPT will cause a brick if you are running 4.01M33CFW and you try to make a pandora setup.
dEEz_nUtz, UPT is the ongoing development from my self after leaving UPMS-Project, UPMSInstaller will never be updated as UPMS-Project no longer exists. I re-branded it to UPT and this will continue to be updated and will be from PSP4Noobz.com.

hi, so the installers one for pc and the other for psp, i only need to use one of them right? is the pc one also v4.3 which supports 4.01m33?

I dont think you can make batteries with the motherboard version you have (TA-085-v2)-That was sony's way of circumventing pandora battery creating by releasing that new motherboard. You will have to get a fat one or something.

Note: UPMS is no longer updated, the newer versions are not UPMS but UPT and will continue to be updated under the UPT name from PSP4Noobz.

Yep UPT is the updated UPMS. It still contains all the original ideas and concepts created by myself and the UPMS-Project team.
UPMS-Project now Noob911 is working on a whole new concept, so stay tuned to noob911 for any developments.

Alright, I'm kinda sick of this. I tried using this guide, reading the readmes and all that shit, but it's gotten me nowhere and I've actually managed to brick my OWN PSP which already had CFW 4.01 M33-2 on it, while attempting to hack a friend's PSP. -_-
SO I need help with two things. First. How do I fish my PSP? The recovery menu works but I don't know how to use it...
Second of all, I need CLEAR AND CONCISE instructions on how to use this damn UPMS thing. I tried listening to what's here already, but that just ended up with the other PSP I'm trying to use the Pandora's Battery and Magic Memory stick on, just having a black screeen when I attempt to use them on it.

Wishing you the best of luck with a new development fiend. Just hope you know who's not working on it.

Hi all, i semi bricked my PSP trying to run this at the weekend :(
Had to go down the pandora route to bring it back to life.
Launch PSP (phat), was on the latest (as of tonight) M33 4.01 firmware.
Tried running UPMS4...
At the step where I have to hit square to install fatms371.prx, I do so. It seems to go alright. Then (iirc), it say I need to reboot into the XMB, and start over. Okay, sounds great.
Except... it wouldn't boot into XMB anymore. Or, afaik, anything. But I could get to the M33 Recovery Menu. But that's it. If I didn't boot into recovery, I just booted to a black screen, the green light stayed on for ~10 seconds, and then the PSP shut down.
Maybe need a warning on OP for newbies (+stupid people like me) not to run this on latest CFW?

This is a great guide and tool! I had a magic stick that for some reason stopped working with slim PSPs even though it use to work with them. It still worked with phat PSPs. Anyway I made another magic with the Universal unbreaker and it works perfectly.

will this unbrick a psp if the idstorage keys are wiped out? That happens when you do a firmware update and you take out the battery in the middle of it, it totally kills the PSP, it's basically a 100% brick unless you have the idstorage keys as a backup, and the idstorage keys have to be backup from your particular PSP, you cannot use the ones from other PSP.
cheers

DC7 can regenerate Idstorage now, if you have a pandora install DC7 to it and all will be good.
UPT v5 has a DC7 Intergrated into it, hit the link in my sig if you want it.

Hello all:
I apologize for not being around to answer questions as I have been busy with other endeavors. This guide will remain posted until I get around to having it deleted. As you may or may not have noticed, this guide has not been updated in several months as there have been no updates to the UPMS installer program.
While the program is dated, it does however work very well and is much easier to install than other programs such as 'totalnewbi' and the like, or having to manipulate files manually to get your pandora rig up and running.
If you would like to have your pandora up to date so you dont have to swap memory sticks for future firmwares-might I recommend the newest offering of UPTv5?
It is similar in sense to the UPMS installer as it does the installation work for you, and there are loads of new features in this setup including DCv7 which will install 4.01M33-2, as well as an option to regenerate your idstorage should it become totally corrupt.
Definitely worth having a look at!
The installer can be found HERE
Detailed guide for installation and usage can be found HERE

I have no interest in the PSP but..
You tell us to not run UPMS on 4.01M33 above.
Do you mean...
Install on 4.01M33?
OR
Use on 4.01M33? (Flashing, downgrading etc.)
Thanks :)

If your psp is currently running cfw 4.01M33 and above-do not use this method to make the UPMS memory stick/battery. You can use it just fine on any firmware, you just cant create the UPMS setup on cfw's 4.01M33 and greater. I recommend downgrading your psp to 3.71M33 or 3.90M33 if you were to use this installer.
Alternatively, you can use the UPTv5 (link in my signature) if you have a cfw psp running 4.01M33+
