i got eboots for ps1 games do i need a ps1 emulator to run them or can i just run the eboots? if so how?

If you are on any Custom Firmware 3.02 OE-A or above i think, then you simply put it in your GAME folder (ms0:/PSP/GAME) and then play it from there, if you are on official firmware, you cannot play your own eboots yet.

i have custom but when i do that i try to run it then it freezes

At what part does the game freeze, during gameplay or during the boot menu? And another thing, Which firmware do you have?

i have 3.40 oea it wont even load up i see the icon on my psp go to it then it freezes

i think you should upgrade to 3.52 M33-4. it has a universal popsloader.
