So according to my DMS3 chip I need to hold X (or 'SELECT") to run my PS2 backups upon startup.

Yet to enable progressive scan through my component cables, I need to be holding "X" and "Traingle" upon startup. (this is the official Sony buttton sequence; nothing to do with the DMS3 chip).

These 2 features don't integrate well. If I hold "X" and "Triangle" upon startup I will only confuse the modchip into not being able to read my backup disc.

If by some lucky chance someone can relate to this; do you have any suggestions>

Bump!

Im also looking for this answer, i can only successfully activate progressive scan in a game while my DMS3 is on sleep mode.

I would like to know how to enable a correct progressive scan signal when running a backup game

BTW abohirr, where did you find that startup combinations? And is there any update to the DMS3 firmware that maybe we are missing?

Best Regards!!

actually it used to be select in its very old firmware; that isn't how it is the the one I am using.

Their forums and website for the DMS3 chip all is in a limbo of year 2004. Seems it lost its support then? even though they claimed to continue support.

I did find a beta firmware off their forum for their latest firmware during 2004:
http://www.dms3.com/filterx/dms_upgrade_2_4b7.zip

Though I doubt it helps us with our problem.
