Hi guys

I was trying to mod my xbox by using a tutorial I found on here which involved

powering on the xbox and then plugging the xbox HD into a spare IDE cable on my PC.

All was going well until the xbox started showing error 16
which is something to do with the dvd drive.
so after trouble shooting I found that
1. the error doesnt show when the HD is not connected

after trying heaps of other things which I wont mention I fried the HD.

Now my question is this.
Will chipping and getting a new HD make my xbox work again or is the
whole thing screwed. and do I need a new DVD drive possibly

Where were you getting your information from???

To answer your question, a modcip will fix your problems.

What 's wrong with your HDD?

Read my tutorials to show you how to repair an Error 16 (HDD Clock error, not DVD error)
