yes actually it is a 12F629 DMS.
I was chatting with a very cool guy on irc that helped me out......but im kinda still screwed,
We found a fix but I would have to open up the Wii and reprogram it.

Anyone know wassup with it?

Post the questions on the link I PM'd you. You'll have better luck getting answers. You probably have a WiiFree chip and there's no SMG fix for that. From what I read, you can reprogram it to OpenWii but you will need a programmer. You can either build one or buy one. Again that other site should progive more info.

So I have the same problem as this guy, can you please pm me the link as well?

My modder is asking for 30 as he claims he needs to replace a chip in order to play SMG..

if hes gonna replace the chip hes probably gonna give u a different type of chip such as wiikey or d2cpro; for 30 bucks i would do it since its a different chip. however, not for an update 'patch'.

I have no way of knowing either its an update or actually a different chip. The only update I tried was wiikey so it couldn't have been that in my system.
