1st, i made tis thread bcoz i think there have been many questions n problems regarding on playing ur psp games.especially when they upgrade to 3.71M33.

so tis thread should lower the number of the same thread over and over again n all questions should be asked here.

N tis guide is made 4 the 3.52M33 n 3.71M33 users(other versions might worked too but in order to play latest games, these two cfw is the only way possible)

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is my guide that might possibly answer your questions n problems

FOR PSP
-first,make sure u put your games in the ISO folder in your memory stick root.

-the next thing u need to do is,access the recovery mode of your psp(hardboot your psp n turn it on again while holding the R button)

-then in the recovery, access configuration n make sure all of your settings same as below.(some psp uses different settings)
>>Skip sony logo <currently: Disabled> (Don't matter)
>>Hide corrupt icons <currently: Enabled> (Don't matter)
>>Game folder homebrew <currently: 3.xx Kernel> -(put 1.50 homebrew into GAME150)
>>Autorun program at /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP <currently: Disabled>
>>UMD Mode <currently: sony np9660 -no umd-> -(u can try each one n make sure that your UMD is removed)@if all doesnt work set it UMD required n put UMD inside
>>Fake region <currently: Disabled>
>>Free UMD region <currently : Disabled>
>>Hard reset on homebrew <currently :Disabled>
>>Use VSH menu <currently : your choice>
>>XMB usb device : your choice>

-then exit configuration n enter advanced/advanced configuration n disable the two options available there.

-then enter cpu speed n set both of the options to default(recommended) but certain games require high speed so be sure to try every speed if a game does not work.

-exit recovery mode n try ur game...

-if still doesn't work, maybe it is a bad iso try getting another one(not the same sources)

-if u confident tht your game are not a bad one, then converting it to .cso from iso or vice versa.

**added by kikzm33z

-There's possibility that you need to format the Memory Stick to make it work.if still do not work, see if your memory stick is fake or not.too check it,on your xmb, pree triangle n see if the magicgate is supported or unknown.if unknown then your memory stick is fake.

**Added by larryje

-Make sure the title of the ISO/CSO is short.

Example:

Correct -- Fifa07.iso
Not Correct -- FIFA-07-[PSP][EUR][www.torrent site.com].iso

-Right click on the ISO/CSO file and choose Properties. Make sure the Read Only and Hidden box is unchecked.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

that is all for now,i hope this thread will help everyone.the experts are welcomed to lend a help n please remind me if i miss something n please do add other informations relevant to this topic.

THANK YOU-will keep on update for better solutions.

Nice guide luffypsp.

Just a few recommendations I can make.

>>Skip sony logo <currently: Disabled>
>>Hide corrupt icons <currently: Enabled>

Those 2 options should say (your choice) because it doesn't really matter what there set at.

>>Game folder homebrew <currently: 1.50 Kernel> -(to use homebrew)

I recommend keeping your game folder kernel as 3.52/371 whatever CFW your on. Then place 1.50 homebrew into GAME150 folder.

For CPU Speed most threads and guides I have read say 333 is recommended. The downside is the battery will drain faster so if thats an issue then keep it at default.

I have these recommendations in my guide which if you want you can add to yours...

-----------------------------------
Make sure the title of the ISO/CSO is short.

Example:

Correct -- Fifa07.iso
Not Correct -- FIFA-07-[PSP][EUR][www.torrent site.com].iso
------------------------------------
Right click on the ISO/CSO file and choose Properties. Make sure the Read Only and Hidden box is unchecked.

Other then that great guide. Plus your all fooling yourselves if you think this guide will cut down on those newbie threads. We could have 50 of these threads and it wouldn't cut down on them.

I'm trying to run Madden '08 on 3.10oe-A is this possible?

I know my firmware is getting out dated but I'm having trouble figuring out which new firmware is the best to use atm. Any recommendations? Should I just move to 3.40oe or all the way to 3.71M33-3? Plus upgrading from 3.10 to the newest m33 firmwares sound like I need to do a lot of semi-complicated steps. I don't want to make a mistake and haven't seen a guide to get 3.10 to 3.71m33.

It isn't hard at all to go from OE to M33.

Go HERE and create a Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick that will install 3.71 M33-2 + 1.50 ADD ON-2.

After you have updated to 3.71 M33-2 go HERE and download the 3.71 M33-3 update and extract it. Then drag the UPDATE folder to the /PSP/GAME folder and run the 3.71 M33-3 update and your done.
