So my psp finally took a crap after enjoying the luxury of mods for quite some time now.

I'm considering buying a new one and I'm not sure which one to get...(used w/ 1.50, slim, 2000 etc). Is it possible to install the 3.71 firmware on a brand new psp? Any and all help/suggestions would be great. Thanks!

It's pretty much mechanically F'ed. The joystick wont work and I've tried to replace with a new one 3 times. It seems as though the faceplate doesn't fasten tight enough anymore and the joy goes crazy. I've changed the faceplate as well to no avail. The screws are stripped from me having to take the damn thing apart 20 times. That's pretty much the deal there. Sucks too. Just got 3.71 M33 a few weeks ago.

as of now i would prefer psp phat due to 1.50 kernel issues

but im sure slim will get better as far as the modding scene is concerned as certain homebrew now still requires 1.50. maybe in the future they might be able to change it to non-1.50

thus i would stay around and see if slim gets better

if u really want a psp right now.. maybe fat would be better (it can create a pandora battery that can be backedup! slims cant!)

thanks. i actually think i'm gonna stick to a 1001 fat. much more user friendly for modding than the slim i think.
