Hey all

I recently ran out of my Verbatims that I bought from Best Buy. They were $49.99 and came 20 to a spindle. It looks like Best Buy no longer carries them, but has these

which are $42.99 for 15. Is this the same kind of discs I was using before? Will these work for Xbox 360 ISO's?

it should work, and should be the same as the old verbatims, just its in a 15pk now, unless ur old verbatims were like 4x or 2.4x, then that would explain why the prices are so close cuz these ones are 8x.

get it from somewhere else. newegg.com has it. 10 pack for 22 dollars including shipping. i always get mine from there.

you can get them at either one. The one's you listed will most likely work just fine but you would be WAY overcharged compared to the two sites i listed. You can get a 20 pack at either one for less then $40.

I use These http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4201240 and have never had any coasters. I really don't see what the big deal people make about the media used. In my opinion if it's ripped and burned the right way there shouldn't be a problem.

and unless you live in the state that they are shipping from they usually do not charge tax at online stores.

And media does matter. They are made with different quality dyes. So a cheap-o media will have lower quality dye causing:
Premature laser failure from having to strain reading them
games to work one day and not the next
games that are burned correctly not to work at all because the laser can not correctly read them.
and cheap dye has a much shorter life span before they start to degrade.

just because you have no issues now does not mean you will not have issues later with either your 360 laser or the games not working because of the cheap dye Memorex (aka Memosux) uses.

As far as the Philips i have never tried them, But i have used Philips DVD+R and DVD-R for Xbox and PS2 games and they worked great for those. But i would really get the Verbatim instead. They Philips are usually made with CMC Magnetics dye which is not as good. The Verbatim on the site i bought some from had 26 reveiws from customers and overall had a 4.5 out of 5 rating from them.

Has anyone tried the Verbatim DL ink printable discs? I know that are alot more expensive but it would be nice to be able to print lables directly on them. Has anyone had any issues with these?

I personally never use printable discs when backing up any type of game. Did not really have great luck with them in the past.

I have used Taiyo Yudens ink printables for all my PS2 backups and have never had a problem I have some that are over a year old and still play fine with no problems. But then again they are Taiyo Yudens. Its a shame that they don't make DL discs. I'll be trying the Verbatim DL ink printables soon once I buy my kids a 360 and get the drive flashed. I'll post an update once I start using them.
