Winrar's temp files

In winrar if you double click a file it will extract and open, but I can't find the directory I put a file and it's kind of a big deal because it's 6 gigabytes. Anyone know where winrar puts it's temp files?

By default I'm not sure. But do a search for the file. If you don't know the name of the file, do a search by size and date modified. Do a size search with minimum file size of 5GB. Should point you the way.

I tried and my windows explorer shut down. Winrar and the winrar site doesn't mention it.

I'm not around my PC right now, but go to Program Files and see if WinRAR put them in the WinRAR install folder. If not, do you still have the RAR file?

No I deleted the rar file and they aren't in program files. I might've got the memory back but I'm not entirely sure.

Jusst opened my WinRAR and by default mine goes to C:\Windows\Temp\ It should be there. If not open WinRAR and go to Options-Settings and go to the paths tab. that will tell you the default firectory
