Easiest thing to do is do a search from the manufacturers website on the model of your PC. Usually they carry a specs sheet to tell you the specs of motherboard (Brand, Socket, Form Factor, etc.). This should give you an insight on the type of motherboard you can get. Also, depending on the brand of PC, some manufacturers use propietary motherboards, meaning the motherboard is designed specifically for that PC and aftermarket Mobos may not be compatible. Remember that updating your motherboard also means you may have to upgrade other compoenents, not always the case but happens in some (power supply, aftermarket vid cards, ram, etc.)
