I followed the instructions on this website on how to copy a dvd-r to a blank dvd disc with the dvd decryptor. the movie was under the 4.34 gb. here is my question. when i saved it to the hard drive from the program, and when i tried to open it up for burning, i did not have any file with the extension .dvd. Instead I had .I00, .I01, and .MDS. I tried burning the file with .MDS. the burner started and did not do anything beyond 3%. Why? I didn't get any errors either. What did I do wrong? I followed all the decrypter instructions. I searched for info on this site and I could not find any. I'm new at burning dvds. Can someone help or provide specific instructions. Sorry if this is a repeated topic. I have a pioneer dv4 106 burner. Thanks.

Hi,
I'm no expert but after you have decrypted it, I presume you have shrunk it to size too??
All files are relevant though so all file extensions etc should be burned to disk.
What burning tool are you using?
Have patience anyway - I started this whole palava on Thursday and I've torn my hair out already!

I have to shrink it to size? There was nothing like that on the instructions. Besides it was under the 4.34gb. Do I have to shrink? How do I do that? I tried putting the .I00 and .I01 on the disk as well but there was something that came up and said incompatible format. How do I burn a movie to a dvd-r? Can someone provide an answer to my problem? I only used the decrypter to try to burn, although I have Nero 5.5 Express. Can someone provide the step-by step instructions if I am doing this all wrong.

If it is under the 4.3gb then you dont have to shrink it no....sorry misunderstood.
After you have decrypted it I presume you then open up the file you saved to the hard drive in Nero 5.5.
You should then burn the whole file. I dont know the whole process as I am using Nero 6 but that is easy enough to do.

did you do iso mode or file mode. I find file mode to be better. This will preserve the ifo, bup, and VOB structure of the dvd to the folder that you burn to. You can use the decrypter burner (if you can get it to work for you) or use your burning program of choice.

Then you just burn the folder that you put it in (should be a VIDEO_TS)

I do 95% of my DVD Decrypter ripping in IFO movie only mode. Then I can use DVD2One to compress it down to dvdr size. If you use FILE mode, u can use DVD Shrink to compress it.
There is no problem so big, that a brick placed against the proper skull cannot fix =)

I know the fact that file extension .MDS is a ISO file. If so you have to burn this file in DVD Decrypter. Click the button MODE,ISO and WRITE. Find the file you are trying to burn and wait.

Question for you. Which operating system are you running and are your drives FAT32 or NTFS. FAT 32 drives have a 4gb file limitation. If you are creating ISO files larger than 4gb - most DVDs - then you would have the ISO files split to work with that limitation. Use the .MDS file in DVD Decrypter ISO write mode to set up the burn

I?ve been trying to burn a PS2 game >4GB on a FAT32, maybe that?s why it?s not burning right. It?s skipping, but gets a blue border. I?m using RecordNow DX, on MID speed (2-3X). Do any of you think that's my problem?--the FAT32 not being able to handle 4+GB files?

pio4030, you did it right, something else is wrong. I don't know why it would burn 3% and then stop.

FAT32 is crap at handdling large files and it does not store files larger than 4GB +.
If you wanna copy DVD files, ISO etc, make sure that you use the NTFS system that WinXP uses. This can easily handdle files larger than 4GB +. Your problem will be that win carn't handle the large file due to the files capacity and FAT32 not being able to handle it.

I didn't die. LIGHTNING UK! (the creator of DVD Decrypter) and Shamus McFartfinger over at the DVD Decrypter Official-site said that DVDD will crate a .mds (media descriptor file?)file that DVDD uses to "paste" the two files it makes, so itll be under 4 gigs each, together when it writes. For the best PS2 burning 'experience', check out those forums (search yahoo) and check out my .mds guide. It has worked for me 2of2, no coastees, and took security off Socom II like butter.

DVD Decrypter is the BEST thing to happen to PS2 backupers...EVER. Get the new ver. at dawnload.net if you backup PS2 games--hurry it up, too.
