Hi everyone,

I have one of those debugging PS2s with "TEST" printed on the top. It's basically a factory modded ps2 and shouldn't have any problems playing back ups (I already got Haunting Ground to work perfectly.)

Now I'm trying to play a backed up version of Katamari Damacy NTSC USA. Something's going wrong. Here's a run down of everything I did.

-- Opened ISO with ISO buster.

-- Exported files.

-- Opened CDVDGEN 1.5 to create master DVD.

-- Dragged files into CDVDGEN maintaing proper order using ISO Buster as a guide.

-- Went into Volume menu, entered SLUS info, PLAYSTATION and chose "America"

-- Exported ILM file. (For some reason I can't get "Record" to work. I keep getting an "Execute error" and I already put the wnapsi32 file in my system32 folder so I have no idea what's wrong. I'm using Vista -- Could this be a Vista problem?)

-- Next, I used ILM2ISO to convert the ILM into an ISO.

-- Burned ISO onto disc with DVD Decrypter at 6X speed.
My burner is either Samsung or Toshiba (can't remember) 16X DVDRW
My media is Verbatim DVD-R 16X

Put disc into PS2. My console recognized the disc as a PS2 disc. It loaded up and I saw a little yellow loading icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. But I waited nearly 20 minutes and the title screen never loaded.

I've read the forums up and down and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any ideas?

I meant to say "IML" not "ILM" -- sorry, I'm a Star Wars fan so the letters ILM are permanently burned into my brain.

odd... Rule of Rose works perfectly, but the ps2 can't even read the Person 3 disc I made. Any ideas? I'm using the same set up I posted earlier.

Thanks!

Why would you need to do anything to the ISO?

you have to patch it so the ps2 thinks its an actual ps2 disc. you gotta enter the SLUS number etc. otherwise my system says "please insert a ps2 disc"

Maybe try using CDVDGEN_ISOBuilder_by_JRLS?

that's used to put the iso together is you're using cdvdgen to split them up (which i'm not)

Okay, well, I've clearly illustrated my total n00bness to this stuff.

However, it REALLY sounds like a burn issue. Though, as I said, I don't really know.

My experience: I downloaded this game months ago via torrents, and burnt it using Nero. Did not have to do anything to ISO file. Game works fine.
