psp memory stick problem help please

I have two memory sticks, 1gb and 4gb, and they both dont act right. My psp is custom filmware 3.51m33, My 4gb memorystick does not read cso files when i put them in the iso folder, i currently have the disgaea and metal gear solid cso files in the folder but when I go to the game folder in my psp there's nothing there. However my 1gb does not have this problem, it shows the cso files i have and i have access to the games but the problem i have with this memory stick is when I try to save the game file on any psp game, it does not load the save game screen it just gets stuck on checking for memory card. If any one can help please it would really be apreciated!

Did you buy these memory sticks off of eBay by any chance? Because eBay is known for people selling fake memory sticks that either don't function properly, or don't work at all. Sometimes they show a different amount of space then it actually has, like a 4gb will have less than 1gb of space.

sounds like fake memory sticks. in the xmb menu, go to memory stick and press triangle. on the right side, information will appear. press x, and it will show the memory stick info. if magicgate says unknown or is blank, then you have a fake memory stick. if it says suppoted, then it's a real memory stick

I bought the 4gb memory stick from ebay and yes it says magicgate unknown, but it does play playstation games and gba roms on it. but the 1gb memory stick is supported but i still have that saving problem, could there be something wrong with my psp or is it the memory stick?

the 4gig can't be used for iso/cso games now because it's a fake. fake memory sticks are unpredictable at what they do.

the 1gig should be fixed with a format. copy everything to the computer first before formatting.


also, you might want to upgrade to 3.52 m33-4. it's more stable than 3.51 m33. go HERE for instructions.

Ok i just bought a new 4gb memory stick from best buy and its not fake. It says supported and everything. I put disgaea on it and metal gear solid port ops. I'm still having the same problem with disgaea where when i try to save, sometimes it works and sometimes it just says checking for memory card and doesnt bring up the save screen. Then when i enter metal gear solid it does the psp intro thing then goes to a black screen and cuts off. I believe there is a problem with my psp and not the memory stick. The problem i was havin with my psp is on this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/577356 and I have done the chilly willy key thing and have downgraded and upgraded to 3.5m33-4 twice. Any help would be apreciated.
