Wanting to record music videos form TV to put onto daughters media player. I have the software to convert files to MP4.

However when I record videos form TV channels via my DVD recorder, all videos seem to be in the same vob file. Is there a way to record the videos in there own vob file or any other way of doing this.

Your help would be most appreciated
(not sure if this is in the right forum or not)

Your DVD layout is different from this, where each recording is a separate VOB?
This is a DVD-R recorded on a Panasonic DVDR.

You can split the VOB into separate videos with DVD Shrink in Re-Author mode. Or convert the whole disk and use VirtualDub in Direct Stream Copy mode (lossless) to cut it into individual files.

Attar

Yes - got all the same as you indicated except I only have Video_TS.vob and VTS01.1vob

All the videos I recorded 8/9 of them are all in this VTS01.1vob

I tried using DVD shrink to re-author but it only gives me the last title/video I recorded.

I can only assume that something went wrong in the recording schedule.

Speaking only to my particular machine, even if the disk ran out of space, it would not erase the previous recordings.
You can verify the operation by setting up very short entries on a schedule and see if each recording gets a separate VTS_ number - the number after the VTS_ incrementing for each separate recording.
It's handy if you can use DVD RW or DVD RAM diks for this.
