Demonoid is huge. I wouldn't be surprised to see it pop-up again, hopefully it does.

Just a guess, but I'm pretty sure The Pirate Bay will be happy to bring them back. TPB likes those kind of challenges. Even so, you take down 1 torrent site 10 more are created.

but that is NOT the kind of attitude people should have. D* was a community. It was a group of people who SHARED their ideas, SHARED their knowledge, and SHARED their wealth with others. It was a place where kids could dL music they could not afford. Teenagers could dL games their parents couldn't afford, because Bush has completely f**kballed the economy. And where unemployed engineers and scientists could share their ideas and skills with others.

No, D* was not just a bittorrent tracker. It was a utopia of knowledge and ideas that transcended just about any ideal of mankind as a good citizen of planet Earth!!1!

...and oh btw it should be back shortly, this time split into 20 pieces across various Chinese ISPs so the M.A.F.I.A.A. can't touch them :)

Touché!

The CRIA are whimps.

Since when did Canada give 2 craps about this.

My thoughts are someone else/country or competitor is putting pressure the CRIA to get the servers out of Canada. CRIA don't give a crap. They just don't want Canada to be blamed for the piracy which has been the case in the past.

No balls. I live in Canada. I see the lack of balls here. They want to please everyone.

I'm equally disappointed to see that Demonoid has been popped again. I still have "a bundle" of torrents seeding and a couple leeching. I intend to keep the seeds going until they are zeroed out, and I hope the originators of the few I'm leeching will keep them going too.

In all the time I've been a contributing member of Demonoid, I've found nothing else to compare with the community of users.

I'm hoping the little demon will return!

URGENT NEWS

Torrent Freak checked out the demonoid IRC channel and it reads:

?Site is down, tracker is up. Expect the site to return, unless we hear otherwise from Deimos.?

Deimos is the founder of demonoid for those who don't know.

Yea, same for me. I dropped my downloading torrents, but by re-downloading from demonoid when it comes back you are able to resume from where you left off (assuming you don't delete what you've downloaded so far.
