Ok what would be the best way about using a hard drive with a PS2 slim? What hard drive would I use?


I have been reading about HD Advanced but I am clueless. Can someone explain?

I would basically like to back up my games on a HD and play them on my PS2 slim from the hard drive.

I have been copying my games to disk and using swap magic but thats getting a bit tiering and my big ps 2 took a dump.

lets see....first off you could use a reg. usb hd. thats what ive done....as far as playin games off it, idk how to...used to but kinda forgot...all i memmber is how to play movies off it

Does anyone have a link on how to get started on useing a HD or a USB flash drive?

What flash drive is a good one?

I dont know much but one thing i know is that games do not run well at all off of usb drives, hard drives are the way to go. Thats all I know on this subject.

Well to be Honest The PS2 slim is utterly useless when it come to hdd support, it does work but videos are choppy and load times are just a bit longer then from the disc. sence ps2 usb ports are only usb1.1 there data transfer rates are slower then the disc... there is a few other options...If you have a v12 slim "one of the first slim models" there is contacts on mainboard that you can soilder a special ribbon cable to use a "IDE harddive" but you have to have external power to run the hdd, more trouble then its worth. Personaly I would get the old brick ps2 fixed, tutorials are on youtube on how to do this. With the the Brick ps2 you can run Linux and Games off HDloader with the 48bit patch so you can have 100's of GB of games on the HDD. I was considering getting a slim intell I did some research and decided to get a v4 or v7 ps2 so I called a buddy of mine in Canada to Mod a v4 PS2 with a matrix infinity chip.
If you looking for a modchip installer i can give you his contact info, but prepair to pay about $100 to get your ps2 fixed and modded.
Please don't ask me about ModChips unless you need a installer as there are plenty of forms and info about them on the net. PEACE!
