I've read many different answers regarding this issue...

I know it is legal to make one backup of any game you originally own.

However, are modchips and flashing your drives legal?

as i understand it,"THE RIGHT TO TINKER LAW" allows one to modify anything they own, but the downside is, after you make such mods you lose any right to any service that is offered to that device.
example is, you mod your 360 to play copied games and microsoft cant destroy your system to the point it wont work but can deny you service to live because you agreee that, in order to use that service you wont mod the system.
direct tv and there smart card flashing is another example.
also remember that the law gives you right to modify things you own, once one does it for profit they are not procted by that law.

I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!
