i am trouble backing up two of my ps2 games, guitar hero 3 and tony hawks proving ground. i am using dvd decrypter and have followed all of the steps in this thread:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/298323

i currently have a Sony DVD-RW and a TDK DVD+RW. i need both of these to burn both of my games. i did have little success in burning these games to some cheapo dvd's that came in a pack of 50, but they were too slow to be able to play. with using the sony and the tdh, i have gotten the red screen that says it doesnt recognise the disk. i have set the write speeds down to 1x and they still dont work. i am using a mod chip, an LG GSN-H55N burner and a slim ps2 (PAL)

Who needs English? I'm never going to England.

RW discs usually wont work. Since you have a slim PS2, use DVD+R as opposed to -R. Also make sure you're using quality media such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden (Sony aren't too bad either), and burn the discs at half their max speeds, eg 8x speed discs at 4x and 16x speed discs at 8x.

i was able to back up my gh3 on a maxell dvd-r using dvd decrypter and burnt at 4x.

this game didn't work so well with other dvds, dunno why. it didn't require any rebuilding though.
