I have recently got a new slim psp that's been upgraded to 3.71. I bought a Pandora's battery and magic memory card from ebay as there's no chance I'll be able to get hold of a fat psp to create my own...
The screen shows below when booting up:
Tachyon = 0x005000000, Baryon=0x0022B200
Nand size 67108864
Model: PSP Slim
Press X to install 3.71 M33
Press O to install original 3.71
Press [] to dump the nand
Press L+R+start+home to restore nand dump phisically (dangerous!)
When I press X I get the message:
Loading updater modules... Failed -> Error 80020321 loading module nand_updater
I'm new to the psp scene, can any-one shed any light?
Many thanks!!

Do you have all of your files in the correct places? Sounds like an EBOOT is out of place.

Hi Guano, thanks for the reply, I did have a look for the actual firmware file, there's a file called "371.pbp" stored in the root - does it need to be re-named?

I think you also need a 150.pbp and 3.40.pbp in the root.

Copied those in, same result.
150.pbp - 13,575kb
340.pbp - 21,532kb
There's two folders on the stick, registry and kd - do you need any details of what's in there?

No, I know what's in there. If you JUST NOW copied those in, then you definitely didn't follow the tutorial correctly. If you get excited like I do when trying new things, I tend to skip steps just to try to hurry up and get thru it. I'd say format memstick and all that and start over. Make sure you do the correct msinst formatting.

I didn't follow any of the tutorials, as mentioned I bought it from ebay (trying to avoid these sort of problems!!!) I've had a look at the main instructions thread for creating the battery (which I have & seems to work ok) and the MS, I've downloaded and installed the software linked, but where is the mspformat/msinst files?
Sorry for all the questions, your help is much appreciated!! :)

Who knows if the mem stick is formatted correctly? I would say go find Pandora's battery on MaxConsole or psp-hacks. Therein, will be all the files you need. Then go here:
http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=78542
Look at each step very carefully. Look for the part about msist and mspformat. Even tho this guide is for PSP slim, it will help you get set up for your PSP.
