I am going to buy a new 360 and want to flash the firmware. How do I know which model to buy from looking at the box? Also am i better off getting the premium or the elite? And is the only difference the hard drive?

Avoid the Hitachi 79. You'll have to buy a modchip to flash it. With the Elite you'll get the audio dongle.
