Semi-bricked, no settings page, but why?

Well. I have a US wii, with an original wiikey.
When I updated the update from SMG my settings page turned into an Opera page.
But how can this be?, I have a US wii and the update was from a US game, I don't understand.

I would like to help you but in fact your case is strange...my wii is semi-brick because I updated it with MPrime 3 NTSC but I have a PAL Wii, so in my case have the "OPERA page" you describe but well deserved so!!!
