Did Microsoft leave my disk drive in mode b?

So, a while ago I sent my 360 in to get fixed through Microsoft's extended warranty after my system 3 ringed. When I got it back, I noticed that the disk drive wouldn't open unless I pressed the eject key three times (one press, and the drive starts to open but stops about a cm out, twice the drive moves back in, three times and it finally comes out). If there is a disk in the drive, it opens on the first press. Does this mean my drive is in mode b?
The reason I'm asking is because I watched Textbook's video of flashing a hitachi drive and he listed 3 signs of a drive in mode b, and my drive seems to be acting like one of the three signs he listed. Any help would be appreciated.

Open the tray and try to bend the metal cover up some.
If it gets so bad to where the drive won't open at all, It's still easy to get it open by hitting eject then pressing in and up on the drive tray.
