I have an NEC-3520A, and have never had a problem with it. I've been considering upgrading to a newer drive, and would like to know which is the best & fastest drive for burning 360 backups. I'd like to burn something in less then 30 min.

There really isn't one. People buy the burners that they like best. I would first give your burner a try if it can do DVD+R DL media
Pioneer and BenQ both make really good burners. If you upgrade make sure you get one that can Booktype/Bitset DVD+R media

I don't see why not. You might need a different version of firmware though. PM me if you can't change the booktype.
Regarding the other posts, I was looking at the 112. Thanks.

If you plan on backing up a lot of original discs then what you need is two drives.
A) a Dual Layer burner, preferably one that can booktype/bitset DVD+R media to DVD_Rom
B) a Samsung SH-D162C (IDE) or SH-D163A (SATA) DVD-Rom drive flashed with Kreon firmware from Ebay.
With those two things you will be able to back up all of your original discs with ease. Also make sure you buy top quality DVD+R DL discs from Verbatim.
