Okay, so I'm following the total noob tutorial for flashing a benq drive.

I've made the usb flash drive boot disk, and I'm pretty sure I've got all the settings right in BIOS. I boot it up, it launches windows 98 like it's supposed to, only instead of giving me a command prompt with the A drive, it gives it to me with the C drive. I enter in the command DosFlash r [my port number for the VIA card] 1 a0 1 4 a:\orig.bin 0. It doesn't accept it saying it's an incorrect command or something. I try replacing a: with C;, same thing. I don't know what to do, any ideas?

I can get a video going through my BIOS if there are no hints in what I've said. Thanks.

Here is a video of my bios setup, and a picture of the result.

Something to note, the 360 was off during the BIOS set-up, but turned on when I started entering the commands.

if you need to be in a: then get there, if you are working with a floppy disk than you need to be in a:
so just type a: then hit enter button and you will be able to work in the floppy drive.

I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!

I don't need to work in the floppy drive, I'm just trying to follow this guy's directions, and I don't even know what I'm doing wrong.

If anyone is willing to guide me through flashing on aim or msn, please let me know your screen name through a pm, thanks.

Are there any other guides to flashing the Benq drive?

Try just booting to dos with the bootdisk like normal, and then type "dosflash" and nothing else. I had your problem too, wouldn't work with the long command string. It should scan and find the drive, if not, turn off/on the 360 and type it in again. It should ask you a (Y/N) question, say "Y" and let it scan for the drive (which you will most likely need to cycle the 360 on and off once to have dosflash find it.

Give it a shot this way, it's still easy and works. Read the bin first and name it "orig.bin" like the guide says. Shut down and boot back into windows and use a verification tool to make sure it appears and read legit. If so, you're probably good to go flash the new bin and enjoy. :-)

Without you posting a picture of y our BIOS screen, its undetermined if it's ok or not. Follow Bonovox advice. My guess is you're typing the command line in wrong.

Why do people keep missing my posts>

It's right there, a video of all my BIOS settings, and an image of the result.

I don't think people will read my edited posts, I mean a person already skipped over an entire post without even noticing it.

Also, the method clearly doesn't work for me. I used DosFlash and it was also a bad command. Are there any other BenQ flashing guides?
