I have purchased one of these for my xbox 360, but can't get it to work.

I've connected it to all 3 usb ports and subsequently run the tests after each time. each adn every time the tests fail at the first hurdle when it says the wireless adapter is 'disconnected'. How can this be? It's connected!!!

The wireless section in the 'edit settings' part is greyed out so i can't edit anything there

any ideas?

is it the official wireless adapter from Microsoft?
If so then return it as it may be bad. If not then the problem is that from what i read only the Official USB adapter will work on the 360, otherwise it has to be an ethernet adapter that is Xbox Live compatible like this one:

it is the official one.

it is a replacement for one that i thought didn't work. Now it seems that it might be something that i'm doing rather than the adapter

Either that or i've been unlucky to get to bad adapters
